Animation Camp

Bring your child’s imagination to life with our hands-on Animation Camp! Campers will explore the fundamentals of animation and progress to more advanced techniques as they grow.
Beginner (Ages 8–11): Bring Drawings to Life
Young animators will dive into 2D animation using kid-friendly software, starting with pencil and paper and moving into simple digital animation. Campers will learn how cartoons are made by drawing, designing characters, and building short animated scenes.
Activities include:
• Drawing flipbooks and experimenting with movement
• Designing characters using basic shapes
• Learning storyboarding basics
• Creating a simple digital animation
• Watching short animated clips for inspiration
• Sharing their final animation with friends and family
What they’ll learn:Animation fundamentals, creative storytelling, basic digital drawing skills, and turning ideas into moving images.
Intermediate (Ages 12–15): Build Animated Stories from Concept to Screen
For teens ready to take animation further, this camp introduces professional tools like OpenToonz and Krita. Campers will design characters, apply essential animation principles, and produce a short animated film complete with sound and titles.
Activities include:
• Explore the 12 principles of animation through fun exercises
• Design original characters and backgrounds
• Storyboard a short film and animate walk, run, and jump cycles
• Add effects, sound, and music to their project
• Showcase their final animation at a camp screening day
What they’ll learn: Advanced animation principles, full digital production workflow (pre-production to post), character and background design, timing, and storytelling for animation.
Tech Requirements: Campers will need to bring a laptop for the duration of the camp. No special software or applications are required—just the ability to connect to Wi-Fi. Please make sure the device is fully charged each day.
