Game Design Camp
Ages 8-15
Date: August 4 - August 7
Please note the tuition fee reflects the cost for a single camp enrollment.
Ignite your child’s creativity and curiosity in the world of game design! This hands-on camp offers two levels tailored to different ages and experience:
Beginner (Ages 8–12): Using beginner-friendly software like Scratch, campers will design characters, backgrounds, and game logic with colorful blocks - no typing required. They’ll explore fun genres like mazes, clicker games, and platformers, learning how games work behind the scenes while developing creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Intermediate (Ages 12–15): Older campers or those with prior experience will use industry-style tools like Construct 3 and GDevelop to create more complex, interactive games. They’ll dive into game mechanics, user interface design, and logic-based coding, experimenting with platformers, shooter games, and RPG concepts. Features like enemy behavior, health bars, levels, and dialogue boxes bring their games to life.
By the end of the camp, every camper will:
• Understand core game design principles and coding logic
• Build and test their own playable games
• Develop creative, problem-solving, and collaborative skills
• Showcase their finished projects with pride
Tech Requirements: Campers will need to bring a laptop for the duration of the camp. No special software or applications are required—just the ability to connect to Wi-Fi. Please make sure the device is fully charged each day.
